Jody also sent this panoramic view in which the colors of the foliage show up better. He said the reds were amazing, and he's off to climb Wright Peak next weekend!

Thanks loads, Jody!

It's Garbage Day!

..... and there'll be a change in the weather ...............

According to WKTV: "Good morning Central New York. Some dramatic changes in our weather over the next 24 hours.

Temperatures starting out in the 50s this morning with patchy fog. The fog is expected to lift before 9am, giving way to partly sunny skies.

A powerful storm system will be the game changer for the weather this week. A strong cold front will approach the areaa from the west this morning. Ahead of the front, breezy, warm, and partly sunny weather. Temperatures will climb into the upper 60s to near 70 by early this afternoon. The front is expected to cross between 2-4PM this afternoon, bringing with it showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms will be accompanied with brielfy heavy rain and gusty winds. Wind gusts could exceed 40mph at times as the front crosses. Once the front passes, temperatures are going to drop rapidly. Temperatures only in the upper 50s and low 60s by this evening. Breezy at times tonight, with overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.
A large storm system will draws in a northwest wind and cool Canadian air Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This is a perfect set up for lake effect rain on Tuesday and Wednesday and even into Thursday. Expect occasional rain showers, clouds, and chilly temperatures. "

IN THE MAIL

From Debby Gerhardt:

"Carl and I made a trip to Fort Drum today (Friday) for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team Deployment Ceremony. Our son, Cpl Brandon Gerhardt, will be deployed to Iraq on October 15th. The day could not have been more perfect."

Thank you, Debby, and our thanks to your son! We'll keep him - and his buddies - in our prayers!

This letter came to me from Mary Fanning, and I'm forwarding it to Nancy Ayala!

"I wish I had known someone from All Chimes was coming to look at the bells. My daughter, Denneice, reminded me a few months ago that I used to play the bells in the Temple to start the Waterville Christmas visit of Santa Claus. She said I always started off with "Here Comes Santa Claus". She thought it was great that she, along with Valerie & David, had the opportunity to climb thestairs to the Tower and watch me play the bells. I would like to try to play them again."
