Saturday Special!

Monday would be too late to tell you that:

An article entitled "Waterville moves on Without Star" appeared in yesterday's Observer-Dispatch.

Watch the Waterville Indians take on the Oriskany Redskins today at 2:00 P.M.

LIVE

on the Whitesboro Web.

Note: you'll need Windows Media Player 11!

Trek Trenton Falls Today or Tomorrow

The trail will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4. If you miss the trail this weekend, don’t worry, Oct. 10 and 11 will be the final weekend to view the falls before spring.

To get there: Take Route 12 into the Mapledale commercial district, turn onto Route 28 south, which extends off the east side of Route 12. Follow Route 28 to first left, on curve, which is Trenton Falls Road. Follow signs to four-way stop. Go straight and continue to end of the road, where you can park.

The illustration is from the Harper's Weekly, September 19, 1863.

Earlier this year, a two-part article entitled "Oneida County and Waterville in the Civil War," written by former Watervillian Eric Kennedy, was published in The Waterville Times.

It was, to the best of my knowledge, the most thorough such study that has been made available to the public for a long, long time and I am most grateful to Mr. Kennedy for writing it in the first place and to Ms. Patricia Louise, Editor of The Waterville Times, for printing it.

Somehow, since its publication, Mr. Kennedy's computer "lost" the original file (!) but now, thanks to Ms. Louise, Eric now has a copy of his own once again; a copy has been sent to the Waterville Public Library for the "History iMac" and I've just posted the article on my blog, "Heaps of History."

It only takes a few minutes to read, but it leaves a much longer-lasting impression!

Thank you Eric and Patty!

2.

If you remember when you were a little kid and had a dream

OR

if you're a bigger "kid," now, and still have one,

picture Matt Quayle.

He sat in the WCS Auditorium 20-plus years ago, listening to - and watching - music happen! He wanted to do the same thing; especially to be able to put real sound to the music that he told his mother he "heard in his head!"

It's more than a Concert:

it's a chance to hear once-upon-a-time "dreams" by Beethoven, Debussy, and Rachmaninoff - as well as Quayle - made real by two extraordinarily accomplished young musicians who are happy to share their experiences in How-To with all of you!

It's more than a concert:

you can support the Food Pantry. Please bring a contribution!

It's more than a concert:

the Brothertown Music Boosters will hold one of their famous

RAFFLES

Tickets to shows in the Broadway Theater League

2009 - 2010 season

See you there!
