It's Recyclables Day!

26 degrees F. / -3.3 degrees C.

From WKTV: "Good morning Central New York! Dry weather over the next couple of days. Maybe some showers by Saturday.

A chilly start to the day, with widespread frost. Dry weather is expected this morning and this afternoon.

A large and expansive area of high pressure will park itself over the region thtoday and tomorrow, giving us dry, seasonable weather. High clouds will decorate the skies today, giving us milky skies and faded sun. Highs in the mid 50s. Generally clear tonight, with overnight lows near 30.

Staying high and dry Friday, with a bit more in the way of cloudiness. Highs in the upper 50s.

Heading into the weekend, the remnants of Ida will shift into the northeast. By the time it gets here, it will give us nothing more than a few showers Saturday. On Sunday, a cold front driving in from the northwest may give us a brief shower or sprinkle.

High pressure builds in again next week, with cooler but sunny weather Monday and Tuesday.

MEANWHILE.......... from the other side of the world!

"The Shortest Distance between Two Points........
Is NOT a straight line."

Glen writes: "Yes… I know that’s not what your math teacher says. But… to go to China you fly OVER the North Pole! What???? Yup… you don’t fly in a straight line, to do that would take over 20 hours! You take advantage of the curvature of the earth and jettison over the North Pole and cut 6 hours off the flight!

"Shanghai continues its explosive growth. Its been 18 mos since I was here last. Our offices were in the middle of an empty business park… they are now totally surrounded by buildings……

"I've been stuck inside the company van in the back all day so taking
photos has been impossible since the windows are tinted... .

Bikes are still the main means of transport. But these are not your typical Schwinn. They are old bikes from the 70’s but they all have small motors on them!

(Better the van than this!)

"I’ll be here till Saturday then up to Beijing for a day and then down to Hong Kong and home next Wednesday!"

"Here’s another interesting tidbit…. I leave Hong Kong at 1140 AM…. I arrive in Chicago at 1141 AM…. WHAT???? It’s a 1 minute flight????? Cool!!!!!"

Hey! It's a "Subway!"

I don't recognize the logo of this fast food shop, but the smiles are friendly and the food photo sure looks good!

Thanks, Glen!
