Another Balmy Autumn Day!

It's Metals Day

There will be NO collection tomorrow - Veterans' Day.

Recyclables will be collected on Thursday

and Garbage on Friday.

***************

50 degrees F. / 10 degrees C. and overcast

From WKTV: "Good morning Central New York! Today won't be quite as warm as yesterday, but it will still be nice and mild for November standards.

Mostly cloudy skies early this morning. As a cold front passes the area, early today, we could see a brief sprinkle. Most areas are expected to stay dry.

Clouds and a few peeks of sun are on the way for today with highs in the low 60s. Skies will clear out tonight as a large area of high pressure builds in from the west. Overnight lows tonight in the low 30s.

Our weather pattern heading into the remainder of the week will be dominated by a large area of high pressure. Dry, sunny, slightly mild weather is expected for the remainder of the week."

Coincidentally or not, my new computer cannot "find" the same hourly weather forecast on the Weather Channel that I've been snapping every day for the past three+ years: this is from the WeatherUnderground. Click to enlarge.

If you have not already put a star on the Veterans' Wall at the Library you can do it today and also join the Library Staff at a reception honoring veterans this evening at 6:30!

All Summer long I've left the house at around 3:30 to drive around the village and countryside collecting pictures to post here. Clearly, I need to revamp my schedule because daylight begins to fade at around four o'clock and there are only so many evening views that are as striking as this, from the Library Garden!

FLASHBACK!

Parked next to "Ken's Garage" on Conger Avenue, this beauty which suddenly reminded me, somewhat, of a convertible owned by Stan Dziekonski years and years ago! We called it "the Classic!"

IN THE MAIL

From Lawrence Gilley, in Deansboro:
"You can read the November issue of the Newsletter of the Marshall Historical Society on line now: http://marshallhistsoc.org/nl.html

Remember that the next meeting is at 7:20 pm on Thursday, November 19 in the Marshall Town Hall, Deansboro. The speaker will be Dorothy Stacy and she will speak about 'Utica's Marvelous Past.' "

Those of you who enjoyed reading Oneida County and Waterville in The Civil War
by Eric Kennedy will be glad to know that he's finishing up another article to send to The Waterville Times. Watch for it!

*******

"Once Upon a Time in Waterville," the story-swap by "old-timers" that started out as a summertime series at the Library, will hold it's last meeting for the year on Friday, November 20th, and resume in the Springtime. As well as being informative, it's been just plain fun!

*******

Have a Great Day, Everyone!
