It's Garbage Day!

16 degrees and clear.

From WKTV: "Bundle up today! A large area of high pressure will nose in from the north today and deliver an arctic airmass to Central New York. High temperatures this afternoon are only expected to be near 30 degrees. Winds sustained 10-20mph from the north will make it feel like teens through most of the day. One bright spot in the forecast is that we do expect wall to wall sunshine throughout the day today. With clear skies this evening and tonight, temperatures will fall into the teens and even single digits in spots tonight!

Slow improvements heading into Tuesday, but still chilly. High temperatures will be about 10 degrees warmer, near 40, with continued sunshine. It will feel a lot better by Wednesday, when temperatures are expected to reach 50 or better with partly sunny skies. "

Last Friday was, of course, the first day of Spring, and I found this bright photographic greeting from the Waterville Public Library in my afternoon E-mail!

"Just so you know we're on top of things here at WPL. New today in our garden:

Happy Spring!

from the Crew: Amanda, Deann, Jill, Linda, Margie, Pat, Val, Andrew, Jeff and Travis."

Seen yesterday: hundreds of Canada geese at Woodman Pond, north of Hamilton.

(This one's for Scott!)

New beaverwork, right across the road from Woodman Pond ...

More geese in a field behing Earley's ........

......... and even gulls - waiting for the tide to come in, I guess!

Here's a special notice from a blog-reader:

"A Very Important Important Date-to-remember for the Residents of the Waterville Central School District:

The next board meeting, at which the board will accept
or reject the suggestions of Mr. Lonzak, is listed on the District
calendar as being on

Tues. April 14th.

This is an error.

The board will decide the fate of the coming year on Tues. April 7th."

The Waterville Rotary Club's Farmer Night
will be April 9th.

Easter Egg hunt

will be Saturday April 11th at Harding’s.

We have 475 plastic eggs (without holes this year) filled with jelly beans and about 100 bags filled with goodies and candy. The golden eggs, 3 large chocolate bunnies, and Kirk’s special ears are here too.

FOR THE RECORD

There are some days when the blog requires more html tinkering
