Seen yesterday: hundreds of Canada geese at Woodman Pond, north of Hamilton.

New beaverwork, right across the road from Woodman Pond ...

No doubt quite a number of Watervillians, including members of the Waterville Rotary Club, will be driving to Hamilton on Thursday evening to hear former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich, at Colgate University. Gingrich will assess President Barack Obama’s policies and administration and discuss the future of the Republican Party.************
It's Garbage Day!
16 degrees and clear.
From WKTV: "Bundle up today! A large area of high pressure will nose in from the north today and deliver an arctic airmass to Central New York. High temperatures this afternoon are only expected to be near 30 degrees. Winds sustained 10-20mph from the north will make it feel like teens through most of the day. One bright spot in the forecast is that we do expect wall to wall sunshine throughout the day today. With clear skies this evening and tonight, temperatures will fall into the teens and even single digits in spots tonight!
Slow improvements heading into Tuesday, but still chilly. High temperatures will be about 10 degrees warmer, near 40, with continued sunshine. It will feel a lot better by Wednesday, when temperatures are expected to reach 50 or better with partly sunny skies. "

The Brothertown Optimist Club, along with its Jr. Optimist and Octagon Clubs are organizing a community effort to help the Waterville Food Pantry meet the area's needs in the upcoming year. We are looking for community members and community groups to work along with us at a Donkey Basketball Game (details below). We need help selling advance sale tickets. We welcome members of the community to donate a basket of goods or services, which could be raffled that evening. We could use people to serve food in the cafeteria, help with admission at the door and even some volunteers could ride a donkey! Michael Latreille of Michael's Fine Food and Spirits and Superintendent of Schools Gary Lonczak have agreed to ride donkeys and more community members are encouraged to sign up to participate.
Student riders must be high school age and must have sold at least 10 advance sale tickets. Volunteer, contact Brian Bogan at 841-8527 or email at bbogan7777@aol.com

COUNTING DOWN
8 Days Until
Trout Season!

Here's a special notice from a blog-reader:
"A Very Important Important Date-to-remember for the Residents of the Waterville Central School District:
The next board meeting, at which the board will accept
or reject the suggestions of Mr. Lonzak, is listed on the District
calendar as being on
Tues. April 14th.
This is an error.
The board will decide the fate of the coming year on Tues. April 7th."
***************
The Waterville Rotary Club's Farmer Night
will be April 9th.
Easter Egg hunt
will be Saturday April 11th at Harding’s.
We have 475 plastic eggs (without holes this year) filled with jelly beans and about 100 bags filled with goodies and candy. The golden eggs, 3 large chocolate bunnies, and Kirk’s special ears are here too.
FOR THE RECORD
There are some days when the blog requires more html tinkering
than I'm willing to give it: today is one -
I give up!
Have a Great Day, Everyone!
