It's 28.8 degrees.
There's just a tiny bit of snow, but it's not going to last!

COUNTING DOWN: 9 days 'til Spring!

From WKTV: "A cloudy start to the day, with temperatures a bit mild. We may see some breaks of sunshine this morning, but clouds will rule the day. Our next weather maker will move in from the west, and will give us a heafty dose of rain. A warm front ahead of this storm will move in this evening. Showers will break out late this afternoon, with a steadier rain by evening. Rain will fall heavy at times tonight, with overnight lows in the upper 30s. It will also be a bit breezy as well.
Periods of rain tomorrow, as our storm system passes through Central New York. Temperatures may briefly hit 50 degrees in the afternoon, before a cold front moves by. More rain, and possibly some thunder will be accompanied by the cold front. Total rainfall across the Mohawk Valley is expected to be between an inch and an inch and a half. "

On Madison Street

It's definitely Springtime in the village!

On Osborn Avenue

Jody has tapped some of his maples with an amazing arrangement of
modern "spiles" and tubes!

According to Wikipedia, "It takes approximately 40 liters (10 gal) of sap to be boiled down to 1 liter (1 quart) of syrup. A mature sugar maple produces about 40 liters of sap during the 4-6 week sugaring season. "

Out on Hanover Road .............

........ and at the Shanley Road Corners.

There's also reason to slow down if you're southbound on Osborn Avenue nearing Route 20!

North of the village,

the Oriskany Creek at "the Dugway" was roaring ......

.......... and the little waterfall on Gridley-Paige Road seemed to dance!

IN THE MORNING MAIL

I've received a request from Sue Cardone (at the suggestion of WCS student Jessica Scoones) to post this public announcement:

"The Teen Adventure Club of the Living Waters Parish (The United Methodist Churches of Bouckville, Deansboro, Madison and Oriskany Falls) is sponsoring two special events on March 14th as part of their 30 Hour Fast for World Hunger to benefit the United Methodist Committee On Relief special project in Zimbabwe, Africa. Both events are at the Fast site which is the Oriskany Falls United Methodist Church in the Falls at the corner of North Main Street and Skyline Drive (College St). The first event will start at 7:00 PM and stars Larry Brennan -- who is a fantastic ventriloquist -- and his "dummies" Charlie and Gladys. He was here last year and we all really enjoyed them. The second event is a local Christian Rock Band that some of you may know -- Stranger Than Fate, They will perform between 8:30 and 10:00 PM. There is no charge to attend these two concerts, but a special love offering will be taken after each performance to show our appreciation and thanks for their coming. Please plan to attend -- we're sure that you will really like our guests."

Another E-note was from Kathy Littrell: "The benefit for Charlie Williams was a huge success! Thank you for putting it on the blog for us!" (I was glad to do it - and Thank You for the "thank you!")

Have a Great Day, Everyone!

(See you at the library tonight?)
