Monday

***************************

It's Garbage Day!

36.7 degrees and drippy.

But what a weekend! My grandmother would have said that we had "turned the corner" into Spring!

All sorts of good things happened!

Everyone with whom I spoke had remembered to set their clocks ahead.
Heavy jackets were left in closets when their owners went outdoor to do the first raking-up of winter debris or take rides to see high water in the Swamp.

The Sangerfield River at Loomis Road.

Jennifer (Nichols) Neff sent the next three pictures, taken during Saturday's Heart Run & Walk, along with this E-note:

"The weather was beautiful and the crowd was unbelievable. Sheri and I ran into Dennis Gibbons before the walk started. The group shot is a picture of Coach Roger's Team. My sister and I rang the bell at the top of Heartbreak Hill in honor of our father, Roger Nichols. We had a great time and can't wait until next year when my dad can walk with us!"

(Thank you, Jenn!)

On Saturday, I found the first Skunk's Cabbages!

Yesterday morning's "white-outs" were caused by fog - not snow!

Bill Lachmann told me that a flock of Canada Geese had been seen: 46 geese, to be exact!

"Forty-six?" I asked?

"Yes - Luke counted!"

(Thank you, Luke!)

And - although snowmobiles may not be seen crossing this field next to Osborn Avenue, any more this year ...............

............. that's just where the geese planned to spend the night!

Counting Down - 10!

WKTV's forecast as of last evening: "Precipitation should stay all rain throughout the overnight and into tomorrow morning as temperatures only fall back into the upper 30s. Hilltops around the Mohawk Valley may see some wet snow mix in with the rain on Monday morning. With the combination of heavy rain Saturday night, snow melt and ice on streams and rivers, the flood potential still exists along rivers and streams through Monday afternoon. Rain showers continue for the start of the work week as temperatures hold steady in the upper 30s. By the afternoon, colder air will begin to filter in, so any rain showers that are around will change over to light snow. Little or no accumulation is expected. Temperatures will fall back into the low 30s by the evening.
High pressure moves in Monday night into Tuesday with partly sunny skies before another storm system arrives Tuesday night."

Have a Great Day, Everyone!
